ONCE AGAIN qualifying was rained out for the Cup Series, this time at Atlanta Motor Speedway for Race #33, Round 7 of the Chase. Greg Biffle had raced his way into 2nd spot last week so he started outside pole. Kyle Busch won Atlanta back in the Spring so they may be one of his best shots to grab a win in this Chase, last win coming at Watkins Glen. Matt Kenseth paced the field much of the race, leading the most laps. Jeff Burton, Reed Sorenson, Juan Montoya and Dave Blaney got involved in a big wreck in Turn 3/4 around 20-25 to go. Carl Edwards caught Denny Hamlin and went on to win at Atlanta, Carl's seventh win of the year. Jimmie Johnson did what he had to do to keep his point lead safe, finishing right behind Carl Edwards. Five Fords, two Chevys, two Toyotas, and one Dodge scored Top 10s. Busch brothers got 5th and 6th.

The Top 10:
1. #99 Carl Edwards (Ford)
2. #48 Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
3. #11 Denny Hamlin (Toyota)
4. #17 Matt Kenseth (Ford)
5. #18 Kyle Busch (Toyota)
6. #2 Kurt Busch (Dodge)
7. #26 Jamie McMurray (Ford)
8. #6 David Ragan (Ford)
9. #24 Jeff Gordon (Chevrolet)
10. #16 Greg Biffle (Ford)

Three races to go, Johnson is holding on so far. Next up is Texas.
