Off to the wide open plains of Kansas for Race #3 of the Chase. Jimmie Johnson continued to show why he's so good in the Chase, capturing the pole position over Mark Martin yet again. Man Martin has had the breaks missing out on the pole so many times this year. To be honest, there isn't much to say about this race other than Jimmie Johnson leading nearly half the laps and getting the lap bonus. Carl Edwards charged from 34th starting spot to get up to the front to challenge Jimmie. Carl had one last shot to get Johnson on the final lap. Entering Turn 3, Carl dove it in deep passing Johnson but that angle made it impossible to keep it off the wall in 3/4. He pulled off a 'video game' move as the Hail Mary of NASCAR racing I guess you'd call it but the wall was alot tougher than a video game makes it out to be. With Edwards slown by the wall, Johnson got back by and cruised to victory, his first win of the Chase. Fellow Chaser Greg Biffle who went back to back wins the last two weeks cruised home 3rd, still very much in the title hunt. Biffle won this race in 2007 when the race was called for darkness following a lengthy rain delay. Four Chevys, four Fords, one Dodge, and one Toyota got Top 10s and that Toyota was NOT JGR for once haha. Chasers swept the Top 7 spots in this race.

The Top 10:
1. #48 Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
2. #99 Carl Edwards (Ford)
3. #16 Greg Biffle (Ford)
4. #24 Jeff Gordon (Chevrolet)
5. #17 Matt Kenseth (Ford)
6. #29 Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet)
7. #31 Jeff Burton (Chevrolet)
8. #6 David Ragan (Ford)
9. #84 A.J. Allmendinger (Toyota)
10. #19 Elliott Sadler (Dodge)

Off to the final restrictor plate race of 2008 at Talladega. Could that race shake up the Chase picture? We'll see.
