2008 SPRINT CUP RACE 22: Centurion Boats At The Glen (Watkins Glen) Empty 2008 SPRINT CUP RACE 22: Centurion Boats At The Glen (Watkins Glen)

Time for the Sprint Cup to run their second road race of the year, this time at Watkins Glen. Kyle Busch was the big surprise winning his first road race at Infineon Raceway. Could he do it again? Well, Busch got to start on the pole due to rain hitting the track Friday. They've said that it always seems to rain for qualifying but the weather is usually fine on Sunday. Well, this year the weather was perfect yet again for raceday and cars hit the track for some road racing. The track position Kyle had put him in a spot to lead the most laps with his teammate Tony Stewart coming from 9th starting spot to challenge Kyle towards the end. The race was quiet for the most part, going green flag from the start of the race until past halfway. Then, people began to get more desperate and wrecks occured. Lets just say there was a calm before the storm since later on, a big wreck occured when Michael McDowell and David Gilliland tangled up creating a huge mess around the pit entrance. Sam Hornish, Bobby Labonte, road ace Max Papis, and Reed Sorenson were among those collected in the wreck. Hornish's car smacked barrels at the pit entrance spreading sand all over the place. Definately one of the 'messiest' wrecks I've seen since Kyle Busch at Daytona in 2005. The race restarted within 10 to go and Kyle Busch was able to fend off his teammate Stewart to coast to his 8th win of the year. Wow. Three Chevys, three Toyotas, two Dodges, and two Fords got Top 10s, Marcos Ambrose the top Ford, one of those drivers with great road racing skills.

The Top 10:
1. #18 Kyle Busch (Toyota)
2. #20 Tony Stewart (Toyota)
3. #21 Marcos Ambrose (Ford)
4. #42 Juan Montoya (Dodge)
5. #1 Martin Truex Jr. (Chevrolet)
6. #29 Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet)
7. #48 Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
8. #11 Denny Hamlin (Toyota)
9. #99 Carl Edwards (Ford)
10. #2 Kurt Busch (Dodge)

Its back off to Michigan for the next race.
