SCARTS Daytona Duels Info

New this year for SCARTS will be the Daytona Duel races to set the field for the SCARTS 500 @ Daytona. Qualifying will be held as normal with the top 2 qualifiers earning a lock for the front row in the 500. Even those front row starters may compete in the Duel races.

The Duel races will split the drivers roughly in half.

Duel #1 will feature drivers in odd numbered positions in the final Season 2 standings such as Burnout (1st), Fastman65 (3rd), Kooler (5th) and so on depending on who all shows. The lineups for each duel will be the order of qualifying for the 500.

Duel #2 will feature drivers in even numbered positions in the final Season 2 standings such as Pilburn (2nd), Burn (4th), Scorpio (6th) and so on. Same rules apply for the lineup.

Any 'first-time drivers' or 'drivers with no Season 2 starts' will be placed into a Duel as a field filler if one Duel has less starters than the other. (Lexx would be an example of a driver who HAS raced, but made no Season 2 starts. He would be placed in whatever Duel needs more people to race in.)

Again, these preseason events will occur in late June.

Well remember Burn, hopefully you will have a co-driver for the #43 car that can race your car. I think if you find a good co-pilot, you could do well in the owners title.
