Qualifying was rained out yet again for the Sprint Cup Series, now at Bristol Motor Speedway. This was the final race using the 2007 Owner Points, so this put Jimmie Johnson on the pole. This race marked the one year anniversary of the COT debut of 2007. Tony Stewart had a dominant run at Bristol picking up the most laps led award but ended up getting spun late by Kevin Harvick washing up the racetrack hitting him. Tony and Kevin were 2nd and 3rd at that point with Denny Hamlin leading the way. Jeff Burton JUST slid into 2nd spot missing Harvick and Stewart when the caution waved. Upon the green white checker restart, Denny Hamlin had a fuel sputtering issue and didn't get up to speed. That opened the door for Jeff Burton to get by as well as his two teammates Harvick and Bowyer. Upon the checkers, RCR registered their first 1-2-3 finish with Burton winning, Harvick finishing 2nd, and Bowyer getting 3rd. Hamlin slid from 1st to 6th in those two laps. Two interesting guys to get Top 10s were Aric Almirola (8th) and David Gilliland (9th). Stewart ended up finishing 14th after that accident. With Chevy's victory at Bristol, that made it all four car manufacturers getting to Victory Lane in the first five events. Only Ford won more than once with Edwards.

The Top 10:
1. #31 Jeff Burton (Chevrolet)
2. #29 Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet)
3. #07 Clint Bowyer (Chevrolet)
4. #16 Greg Biffle (Ford)
5. #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Chevrolet)
6. #11 Denny Hamlin (Toyota)
7. #9 Kasey Kahne (Dodge)
8. #8 Aric Almirola (Chevrolet)
9. #38 David Gilliland (Ford)
10. #17 Matt Kenseth (Ford)
