Windows 7 Testing Empty Windows 7 Testing

Post by Guest Sun Oct 18, 2009 11:38 am

((10-23-09 UPDATE: TS testing for Windows 7 is tomorrow at 4 PM EST/3 PM CST!!!!))

OK, I'm not sure if any of you guys will believe me, but I have just gotten the update for Windows 7 from the U of Iowa's Tech Connection store here in town! The update was a bargain at just US$6.95! Since the update/install would have been over US$250, that's a HUGE bargain. Right now, I am testing compatibility for Turbo Sliders and rFactor on here to see if there are any glitches.

ISSUES REGARDING rFactor (and any standalone downloads, like VHR)

  • rFactor will start up, but you will be unable to run any other tracks than the one you last played before updating from Vista.
  • SOLUTION: This is a simple fix, since the program is mostly imcompatible with Windows 7 at this time. However, you can run rFactor in compatibility mode. Simply go to the game's root folder, right click the rFactor.exe, rFactor dedicated, and the rF Config programs (do them one at a time, or else this will not work) and go to the properties dialog box. After that, simply click the Compatibility tab and hit the checkbox that says "run in compatibility mode." In the drop-down menu, you will see past versions of Windows, it is recommended that you select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)," since I have found that to be the most stable so far.

ISSUES REGARDING TURBO SLIDERS

None so far!
