January 30th
#2 - "The Slip-Slide Dance"

I am currently watching the '85 Bristol 500 on TV right now...I just got bored of not watching NASCAR.

Well, NASCAR season is almost here finally, and Burnout is working on plans for a more realistic handling setup. So far, he's gotten it up to the stage where he's given the cars the ability to do a burnout. The problem was that the car was tight as all hell and once you let go of the throttle, you would cut loose instantly! I say he's getting there though. Myself as well as Fastman65 tested these out at New Hampshire, Homestead, and Watkins Glen, and I have to say, that setup would be perfect for a dirt racing series. I think we had that idea in the works a while ago?? Hmm....

In the meantime, the Shootout's in one week, and there's going to be a SCARTS exhibition with the 2009 Truck Series cars, after that, I would have to safely say that it's time to retire the '09 cars. We have a whole quota on 2010 series cars that we need to get working on!

Now, as for the shootout and the NASCAR season, the '10 season is gonna get underway later today with the Rolex 24 at Daytona. It's quite a feat when sports car greats such as Andy Wallace, Butch Leitzinger, and Scott Pruett race alongside NASCAR and indyCar greats like Jimmie Johnson (4-time Sprint Cup champion), Scott Dixon (defending IndyCar champ), and Carl Edwards, among others. I still remember a time when Dale Earnhardt Jr. used to race in those bright yellow Corvettes on the road courses of Infineon and Daytona!

I have a proposition for you guys! The thing is, I have absolutely no idea what to name this blog or whatever, and "The Unnamed Racer's Blog" seems very lame to me. So here's what I want to do, I'm challenging everyone in SCARTS to make a name for it! Come up with more than one, and I'll pick at one from each person that I think is the best. Then after that, I'll put it up on a final pool to see which one wins! I haven't thought up of a prize yet....so it might not be much of an incentive yet....but....at least try, guys?

My parting thought for today: anyone remember when Dale Jr. strapped Wilson on the passenger's side of the #8 back in '01? He started doing that at the second Dover race in '01. He won that one....
