2009 has been a cool year for the Chase. In 2008, only four different teams made the chase (Hendrick, Joe Gibbs, Roush-Fenway, and Richard Childress Racing). Each of them had three cars qualified for it. This year, EIGHT teams have qualified for the Chase for the Championship and RCR isn't one of them. Hendrick (3), Roush-Fenway (2), Stewart-Haas (2), Joe Gibbs (1), Penske (1), Earnhardt-Ganassi (1), Richard Petty Motorsports (1), and Red Bull Racing (1) all made it. Even though Hendrick still has three, this 2009 Chase is definately showing us that each of these teams are capable of running up front with at least one of their cars and have done a heck of a job to fight their way into the Chase this year.
