RESULTS: Michigan II

Burn scored his first points race pole hitting a 12.351 second lap. Scorpio went on to lead the most laps and appeared to have an intense battle for the win between him and Burnout, then the caution flew at two to go. There was to be ONE attempt at a GWC finish. Scorpio led the field rather slow out of turn four. Burnout misjudged a movement by Scorpio as a chance to hit the gas. Burnout pulled to the side to allow Scorpio to retain his spot as the leader, but the reaction from behind by Raptor and Burn caused them to hit the rear of Scorpio's car at the start. Scorpio had control of his car coming to the line, but brushed the wall ending his shot at victory. Raptor got the lead from Burnout and held him off to win his second Cup race. Fastmans luck continues to go his way, capturing another Top 3 finish as a result of the GWC melee at the restart.

FINAL RESULTS:
1) #24 - Raptor (Chevrolet) - 60 pts
2) #2 - Burnout (Dodge) - 52 pts
3) #7 - Fastman65 (Dodge) - 47 pts
4) #5 - Burn* (Chevrolet) - 42 pts (+5 pole) = 47 pts
5) #48 - Scorpio (Chevrolet) - 37 pts (+5 most laps led) = 42 pts

For the chasers, the points earned here are meaningless. The Chase points will be reset to 1000 pts and 5 point bonuses for each win a chaser has earned during the season. Check the standings page for the new points going into the Chase race at Loudon.
