Shyguy's New Tire Wear Idea

Shyguy has told me about an interesting tire wear concept we could 'debut' in SCARTS to attract players. Here is a rundown of his idea....

The driving terrain on each track could be activated as 'damage terrain'. This means, as long as we stay out on the racetrack logging laps, the cars will get slower and slower as higher damage is affecting the cars' topspeed. This technique will simulate 'tire wear', as in the more the tires are being used, the car becomes progressively slower as they wear.

Now we can also encorporate this effect in the turns too. The lower line you run in a turn, the car will drain damage faster. If you take a higher line into the turns, the damage drain will be less. This opens up more strategy in how you run your race, perhaps putting less emphasis on lowlining and more emphasis on keeping your car fast longer into a run.

We'd have to balance the effect low fuel has with the new tire wear method, and that will take some testing..... but I think a change like this will revolutionize SCARTS and add that extra new element to the racing to make it more unique.
