Sony picks up NASCAR rights for Gran Turismo 5

NASCAR and Gran Turismo...match made in heaven?

OK, so as you all may or may not know, NASCAR decided not to renew it's agreement with EA Sports after 2009, thereby, no NASCAR game was released last year. I have found out that during the E3 event in California, Sony's flagship racing series, Gran Turismo, has picked up where EA left off. So, in November of this year, Gran Turismo 5 will feature NASCAR as one of it's new offerings for the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.

Gran Turismos physics engine sucks... They look great, iRacing has NASCAR's licensing program onboard, looks and feels real.

Idk they've recently remodeled their physics engine to be pretty damn realistic.. I love it and CANT wait to get this game in my hands.

Plus, I'd say GT5 is probably better than iRacing, only cuz..

NO MONTHLY FEES KILLING YOUR WALLET. Yayz. Plus the online multiplayer custom servers are gonna own because you dont get rated on your performances, and you practically could just drive around with your friends. Thats pretty beast.

GT5 Prologue was decent...they mostly rehashed the GT4 engine, but from what I've seen, the physics are gonna be awesome. Also, they're finally adding online play to the GT series starting with this very game!

Sadly, I don't have any money right now to play around on iRacing, so the monthly fees are out! Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3 either, except my uncle's, and he's moving out soon, so I'm going to have to invest in one....as soon as I get a job!!!

-Denny Hamlin (Was in video above, but not in the list of drivers on the site.)

I know, it's not a lot. But you need to understand that it's not just NASCAR's in the game, theres a good THOUSAND more vehicles. So actually, thats pretty good. Plus, theres obviously going to be DLC's for cars, most likely schemes and extra drivers and stuff. We'll see.

There's going to definitely be NASCAR Circuits, it's questionable which ones though. Daytona Int'l Raceway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are official, but theres a couple up in the air still, such as Infinion Raceway (because of past appearances in the GT Series) and I figure Texas Motor Speedway to be in it as well. looks damn awesome, we'll see about the physics engine... True the fees are annoying on iRacing thats why I quit but none the less is the best by far in dealing with physics and realistic car models. They laser scan each track for the best photo realistic sim experience. Though Gran Turismo may have the momentum.

Oh by the way: NASCARs are not available for the PSP. I have it. It's a siiiick game, but no NASCARs. Oh well.

Like I said it looks nice, and it says at the top of the video "Visualization Technology". They may have it looking right but I doubt feeling right. It was missing all of the bumps and track patches that you need to feel. Looks great though, the lighting is awesome!

And not really true lol. I've tried Daytona on GT5P and that track is a mess to drive because of all the bumps in the turns.

Yeah, thats why indy dont race there, they would knock all the bumps down.

i didnt say iracing's grahics were better, but the only thing GT5 has on iracing is the graphics everything else can go in the trash

i just saw a vid of daytona on GT5 its not half as bad as iracing with the bumps, even atlanta on iracing is rougher than the daytona on gt5
