The 2010 SCARTS Questionaire

Upon popular demand, (DerekE), I've decided to write up another questionaire for the 2010 SCARTS season. As like before, you can cut and paste my questions below and place in your answers to them in your reply. I encourage y'all to be honest in your answers so I can get a feel for what is good and what we need to improve on for the rest of the year and beyond.

1. How often do you visit the SCARTS forum to stay up-to-date on raceday news and the latest topics?


2. Has the 'spraycan' driving line method been effective to even out competition between veterans and newer drivers?


3. Have red flags been abused more this year over last year?


4. This year, we started allowing drivers to appeal penalties. Has that been satisfactory to you?


5. Do you like the current forum scheme or would you like to see something fresh?


6. Scorpio and DerekE made cars for 2010. How do you like em?

Thanks guys for your time to complete this questionaire. I hope we can rekindle the spark that is SCARTS. Keep in mind guys, I consider SCARTS the PREMIER mod for Turbo Sliders and I'd really hate to see the series die out of disinterest. There is so much we've done and still so much potential yet. But I can't thank you guys enough for your interest to begin with. Its been a fun two years guys! It's gone fast!

1. How often do you visit the SCARTS forum to stay up-to-date on raceday news and the latest topics?
- As league manager, its my responsibility to try to update the forum as frequently and accurately as possible. I admit, I get lazy sometimes, but I try my best to post race information as early as possible.

2. Has the 'spraycan' driving line method been effective to even out competition between veterans and newer drivers?
- I really like this new method. It actually makes you drive the track more realistically. You aren't restricted to three lanes but multiple lanes. And also, its easier to tweak and edit after made.

3. Have red flags been abused more this year over last year?
- It's ALWAYS been bad. I really don't get why people get so irate that they have to stall the race to argue. Now sometimes we've had to stop due to technical issues with Burn in the pits and disconnections, but those alone aren't a big deal. Believe me once SCARTS gets back rolling, it will be stricter.

4. This year, we started allowing drivers to appeal penalties. Has that been satisfactory to you?
- I don't mind this rule. Admins make mistakes from time to time and it should be a drivers privelege to right the wrong. Of course with anything, we need limits on it.

5. Do you like the current forum scheme or would you like to see something fresh?
- I put some time into this to make it much different than it was before, not to put down DerekE's mastahpiece when he started this site xD.

6. Scorpio and DerekE made cars for 2010. How do you like em?
- GREAT work guys. Both of you need to be commended for your work. I was a bit ticked at Scorpio not making the Cup cars like he claimed, but I've since forgotten about that. Nice work guys and keep em coming!

7. If you called a red flag this year so far in 2010, say why. Be honest.
- Due to being an admin. Sometimes people disconnect and I have to stop the race or if I have a question about something I caught. Nothing more than that.

8. Do you think numbering pitstalls will add some action and smoothen out pitstops?
- I've always wanted to do this, I just never took the time to. I'm really anxious to try this out in the SCARTS World 600. Gonna be a great way to control the chaos in pitlane especially over time when we get used to it.

9. Any requests for new racetracks for perhaps later this year or 2011?
- I might make some more tracks, definately a new Darlington at some time.

10. Name three things that you consider better over 2009.
- The looks of the cars, the way the cars handle, and track handling.

11. Name three things that have gotten worse since 2009.
- More red flags, driver respect, and ATTENDANCE most of all.

12. Does the 6:30pm EST time work better than the old 7:30pm EST. Should races be earlier or revert back to normal?
- I'm fine with it, but to be honest, its a bit early for me. I just wish I wasn't the one to be depended on to host a server. We need new server hosts that can get things rolling. Other than that, 6:30 is fine, but I'd prefer later. You know what's funny? Ever since we changed from 7:30 to 6:30, attendance lowered. Hmm....

13. AOD1857 made an EXE mod for SCARTS. Do you support him for expanding his mod further? If so, provide suggestions for what you'd want him to add or change in the next release.
- Great job dude. Nice pics of the cars and engine sounds. I do suggest changing the 'waiting room' music, those cheers get annoying real quick when sitting around for awhile in the server. I turned the volume mostly down due to that.

14. Which player(s) would you like to see return to the Full Throttle Cup Series?
- I've gotta name two people: Scorpio and Fastman65. Scorpio has always been a contender in races and its just not the same having Raptor around and no Scorpio. But Fastman needs to return as well. He's a class act but its a shame how annoyed he's gotten with SCARTS due to complaining and red flags. He's the sentamental choice, while Scorpio is the fun factor choice.

15. Did you like Emanuel's SCARTS servers?
- Hell yeah! He hasn't had the credit he deserves for the time he put into it. Thanks man, I hope to see em again!

16. Suggest some ways to improve penalties in SCARTS.
- I like the appeal system the way it is now. For now, I'll support that, but I'm more anxious to hear what you all think.

17. What one driver in 2010 has impressed you the most.
- Burn. He's come out of nowhere it seems and is competitive week after week. Great job!

18. Name your three favorite SCARTS racetracks.
- Charlotte, Watkins Glen, and Homestead. They have good handling and continue to improve.

19. If you've lost interest in SCARTS, provide some reasons on how to respike your interest.
- I've tried not to let the poor attendance get to me much, but honestly that reason has bored even me with SCARTS. I really envision rather large fields to really intensify the action. These tracks have alot of racing potential if we can gather the drivers.

20. July 8th is the two year anniversary of DerekE joining Rawr's Corner which launched SCARTS. What is your best memory of our brief two year history?
- The photo finish I had with Pilburn at Phoenix in Season 2. That lives on as the greatest finish in SCARTS to date. I thought I lost the title that year losing that race by a pixel, but I got sooo lucky at Homestead to pull off the upset.

- It took a long time to write lol, but I enjoyed thinking up the questions and answers.

I dont see anything wrong with them.

Havent raced enough to really tell.

Dover, Talladega, and Homestead (;D)

Broadcasts Publicity would be nice. Trust meh I'm trying to help with that.

Really? I was that important? Lol never realized that. Uhm my best memory, Talladega, first race, first season, I got the pole. lol I felt so accomplished.

Every day or two.

I feel as though the spraycan has made racing a lot more exciting, I've felt myself actually compete!

Yup...just for arguing, which I must admit is pretty stupid.

I haven't seen it in work all that much this year, so it's too soon for me to say.

I like DerekE's cars a lot...but I wish Scorp wouldn't be so grouchy whenever I ask him to make me a car for Phenom...

I haven't called a red flag this year in an official event....I did call one for the Showdown when Jurgen was racing me rather unfairly.

Yup....it should change things around.

A new Montreal and perhaps Road America?

The racing

The attendance (the season's on hold, sadly)

It does, and I like them where they are now.
