rFactor - Daytona Race (2/26/10)

Burnout, Pilburn, and Fastman65 all competed in a 13 driver online race at Daytona on rFactor on February 26th.

NOTE: I have graphics settings turned down for performance on my laptop. You may notice missing stands among other things.

Lap-by-Lap Synopsis

Start
- YoungGun gets the 15 laps at Daytona underway from the pole. The #88 of {TRL} Wicked gets a run at the start and passes outside starter Mikeydiver without penalty.

Lap 1
- LEAD CHANGE #1: The #88 of Wicked surges past YoungGun to take the lead.
- LEAD CHANGE #2: The outside line fights back from a good start and pushes the #55 of Mikeydiver into the lead.

Lap 2
- LEAD CHANGE #3: #33-Burnout shoves the #5 of Pilburn past the leader for the third lead change of the race. Pilburn will lead that lap by a nose.

Lap 3
- LEAD CHANGE #4: Burnout claims the lead with the #88 pushing him to the front. The #5 of Pilburn fades back with no help.
- CRASH #1: As Mikeydiver fell through the field, the other #88 of Stealth turned him around and spawned a multicar crash involving #8-Zalmas, #14-J Peterman, #26-Fastman65, and #55-Mikeydiver. The #8 went airborne after plowing into the 55 car spinning out.

- Fastman65 retires in 11th place as a result of damage from the wreck.

Lap 8
- CRASH #2: Lachlan in the #12 loses it and wrecks in between Turn 3 and 4. Noone else was involved.

Halfway
- Burnout leads a six strong draft across the line for his fifth lap led (8 complete, 7 to go)

- There are two cars behind the lead draft racing together that were slowed by the accident on Lap #3. As the Tour de France calls it, the 'autobus' (stragglers drafting together behind the main pack). They were three strong, until the #12 wrecked just moments ago.

Lap 10
- LEAD CHANGE #5: The two #88 cars team up pushing Wicked into the lead in the high lane. Burnout washes back into the pack.

Lap 13
- CRASH #3: Stealth tries to squeeze into the lowline as YoungGun closes the opening. Stealth gets turned around and #5-Pilburn slams into him as the 88 spins across the racetrack. Pilburn was running 5th at the time of the accident.

-LEAD CHANGE #6: Burnout has momentum down the backstretch to clear #88-Wicked in Turn 3. Wicked lost a little momentum trying to block in Turn 2.
-#83-RacerX and #31 Satz retire from the race. They will finish 5th and 6th.

Lap 15
- Burnout leads three others to the white flag. Wicked is 2nd, Bryan 3rd, and YoungGun 4th.

- BURNOUT WINS AT DAYTONA after leading 10 of 15 laps!
