Iowa vs. #5 Penn State (FIRST BIG TEN GAME OF THE SEASON!)

OK, so for those of you that follow college football (anyone, anyone? ~looks around~), this upcoming Saturday is the game between the Hawkeyes (GO HAWKS!) and our conference rivals, the Penn State Nittany Lions. Last year, Iowa beat them on a last-second field goal to give the Lions their only loss of the season and cost them a chance at a BCS bowl game. The difference between this year and last year is that last year, the game was at Kinnick Stadium here in Iowa City, but now the tables have turned. It's going to be a night game, like last year, but it's at Beaver Stadium over in State College, PA. Both teams are undefeated so far, but Penn's nationally ranked, fifth in the nation to be exact. While the Hawks started the season ranked #22, but fell out after a close game against U of Northern Iowa at their opener in Kinnick earlier this month.

Iowa's struggled with defensive issues at home, winning close games against UNI (17-16, with Iowa blocking 2 FG attempts in the last 7 seconds!) and Arizona (27-17), a team that ESPN predicted would be "the upset of the week." But they seem to have clicked on the road so far, dominating against Iowa State, 35-3. Penn State has dominated their three opponents so far, all at home defeating Akron (31-7), Syracuse (28-7), and Temple (31-6). Will this home advantage continue? Or will the Hawks upset their Big Ten rivals for the second year in a row? Stay tuned...

Yeah I follow College Football but I'm a Longhorn fan. They are off to a good start beating Texas Tech but they have room to improve on defense. Its early yet in the season, I think they'll get by just fine, but the Red River Rivalry up in Dallas in October will be the telltale sign of how good Texas is this year if they can defeat Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is dead in the water unless everyone loses a game this year. Just letting you know, Burnout, but out of curiosity, what's your prediction on this Big Ten game?
