I found this really sick plug-in for rFactor that lets you talk to your spotter, and it also gives special feedback on certain things like:

  • When a driver is out of a race
  • When a driver enters pits
  • Damage info
  • Time left in a session
  • Yellow flag update
  • When a driver makes a best lap (for those lap wankers out there ;D)
  • Tire wear
  • Time gap between cars
  • Suggestions when theres a few laps to go (i guess this has to do with pit strategy?)

But yeah, thats just the top of the cake. With a mic connected and configured, you can:

  • Ask about the leader's position
  • Ask about traffic on track
  • ask about damage on your car
  • ask about tire/engine temps
  • set up pits without pressing a button
  • even say yes or no to respond!

It's really interesting to experiment with it. I may use it with SCARrF...

When you get it and you want different languages, theres different language packs in the rFactorCentral page for it...

Note: Gah, it crashes if too many events happen at once

ie. a yellow being called while you hit the wall and the leader passes the finish line somewhere close around you, that would trigger at least 4 events. To prevent this, I suggest disabling a few events from being called using the Plugin's config program, which should be located in Program Files\rFactor\SpotterAddon\SpotterConfig.exe

You can go to the Customizable Events tab and take out a couple things that you don't want or need that happen a lot, OR I think this could work as well: go to the Alerts tab and find the fifth line that should say:

Alert me of events happening to drivers [ALL (Full Grid)] positions in front and behind me:

Change that to a smaller number, like 3, 5 or 10, which I think should work. More realistic is 3 because thats what most spotters fill their drivers in on, usually the 3 closest drivers and what their doing so they can advance their position..
