Dang Time Warner

My internet provider is Time Warner and now they are starting a 40 GB bandwidth cap PER MONTH for internet stuff. This may greatly affect how many internet games I can play or videos to watch even. I'd likely have to ditch rFactor and focus solely on Turbo Sliders. I may have to do only a couple updates a day and only do the races. You may rarely see me on from here on out. Though the billing cycle is NOT yet in effect, I'm just testing the waters as to how much bandwidth is eaten up by everthing I do. Derek, I'd recommend taking the ticker off as that eats up alot of bandwidth.

This feels like going on a diet. I'll look into possibly switching internet providers, but that's damn unlikely around here as there isn't much competition. Time Warner is becoming a monopoly.

We need to do one race test so I can get an idea of the bandwidth consumption. If its too much, I may have to just manage the league and not be a competitor...

My guess for daily bandwidth is one race, and two 10 minute Internet videos. MSN doesnt appear to consume a great deal, but I'll monitor it.

Glad to say, no matter what mode of play or how many are on a server, I am getting 1 MB per 100 seconds, which is fricken great compared to video downloads. Looks like there will be no problem racing a 30-45 minute race for SCARTS, roughly 30 MB. And this forum doesn't spike as much as I originally thought so I'm good to go for Turbo Sliders!! Goin' for back-to-back championships!
