RESULTS: Homestead (Season Finale)

DOC, driving for Burn, claimed the pole for the Homestead finale out-timing Burnout who was trying for the bonus points to get a leg up on Pilburn. Burnout was forced to enter the race 8 points behind Pil. Pilburn dominated the first half of the race leading the most laps throughout the race, but late pit strategy ended up backfiring on him and Scorpio. Both of them managed to get their laps back so Pil had one more shot to move through the field in the final dozen laps. Burnout was good to go on fuel, working through traffic to get to the front. DOC came off Turn 4 only to slap the wall taking the white flag. Burnout slid by on the bottom and stayed ahead of a hornet's nest for 2nd behind. Pilburn nearly squeezed through there in 2nd or 3rd but ultimately faded to 4th coming to the checkers. Even with the lap led bonus, it was enough of a gap for Burnout to retake the point lead and win his first FT Cup championship by a mere five points! Good race all and a great season it has been! FINAL RESULTS:
1. #2 Burnout (Dodge) = 60 pts
2. #48 Scorpio (Chevrolet) = 52 pts
3. #5 DOC (Chevrolet) = 47 pts (pts given to Burn) --- The five pts for the pole will be added into DOC's points.
4. #11 Pilburn (Toyota) = 42 pts (+5 most laps led) = 47 pts
5. #12 Kooler (Dodge) = 37 pts
6. #7 Fastman65 (Dodge) = 33 pts

Burnout will move to the #33 Chevrolet for 2009. Fastman will take over the #2 car that won the championship this year. Pilburn is rumored to head to RPM to drive the #44 Dodge.

Wtf, so is Burn, to drive the 43?
